Hello, Wondering if anyone can help? Firstly let me describe my small system. Server 1. ISA Server 2006, Windows Server 2003 R2 Server 2. Windows Server 2003 R2, Exchange We have numerous employees that use plaptops whilst travelling what I would like them to do is force them to use the ISA Server at the office. This is easy enough when they login via the VPN is there any way that either forces them to use VPN all the time or can the firewall client be configured to find the ISA server over any wan connection from the laptops? My thanks in advance Dave

Hi Dave, I would like to answer your questions but I'm not sure I'm following you: quote:
what I would like them to do is force them to use the ISA Server at the office. force them to use VPN all the time. can the firewall client be configured to find the ISA server over any wan connection from the laptops? FWC only works on the network you have enabled it (internal, dmz) not on external(I guess wan for you). What do you mean with the first and the second one?

Folks, It is not about trusting my employees as there is no restrictin within the company on where they browse, they do their own thinking on that one. This is for my access as well in that I would like to use the ISA Firewall to protect my computer when I am travelling. Through the use of GFI WebMonitor so that inadvertantly none of us download a virus etc. If I can force the connection of the vpn on a laptop when travelling we don't have to remember to connect it each time we fire the laptop up when we are away on some dodgy hotels freebie unsecure wireless network.. Cheers

Hi mate! you sure live on a world of you own. this is a simple task to accomplish using strict security company policies which will force them and you to do as you are saying. it's all about the level of trust. or all about the "memory level". if you can't remeber to do that, well you are in big troubles .

Kind of old i know, but you can make the laptop users "WebProxy" users. Uninstall the FWC. Force IE proxy settings through GPO. Internet Explorer will only function when the laptop is connected via VPN or on the internal network. Ofcourse users can always install FireFox and get internet whenever their IP Gateway and DNS settings allow them to.
