One wish that I have is that we could search for the message ID's associated with the forum item e-mails. It would make the e-mail much more user friendly and would eliminate some of the hunting that I end up doing if a topic sounds interesting.

Maybe there are others with suggestions?

I've got one... - the option to be able to search ALL forums simultaneously for a keyword.
It happens so often when a problem relating to the firewall client is posted to "general" or somewhere similar and hence unless you search EVERY forum you won't find it.

example in case: I could answer lots of questions about Windows 2003 but I'm (admittedly) too lazy to manually search all forums so instead posted this mention of how to run ISA on Win2003.

Coupled with how clueless some ppl are with posting say a caching problem to the firewall/firewall-client forum.... chances are you'll rarely find that elusive thread again...

I agree with Tolk!

Also, I noticed in one article that Tom mentioned it may be an idea to print up the article and insert it in his book at page xxx - perhaps Tom could create a specific section which holds "Service Packs and Hotfixes" to his books ??

Hi Guys,

Good suggestions! I sort of figure that everyone reads everything over at www.isaserver.org/shinder, as its essentially a continuation of the books [Smile]

You'll notice that I never write articles about basic stuff, because its in the books, but I'll make an effort to pinpoint stuff that directly expands on specific subjects in the books.

The search feature is something we used to have, but it really bogged down the server. We'll investigate this issue again.

I assumed the search wasn't available due to the resources it'd use in searching X thousand articles.
Perhaps if it were only available to registered users.. That way you could stop any dumb-schmuck from essentially almost DOSing your forums.

Somewhat related, perhaps if the forum names could be changed to something more descriptive? (Easier said that done I know... they're perfectly adequate for most...) or perhaps a description added to the primary names?
eg:
ISA Server General - Generic discussions around installing ISA or the publishing of internal resources onto the Internet. Not specifically relating to Firewall issues, client access. (Hmmn.. OK - a little too obvious/ridiculous)
ISA Server Firewall - Issues relating to ISA operating in firewall mode or when beng used with Firewall/NAT clients. ISA Server Cache - ISA being used as a proxy server and/or with web-proxy clients.

Just a thought...
