I have a requirement to create https access to a url (external.mysite.com) then have ISA 2004 redirect that request over http to an internal webserver with a site of a different name (internal.mysite.com)

So basically the user types https://external.mysite.com and then get directed to the internal website http://internal.mysite.com. Havent' tried this yet but wondering if it's possible?

Yes it can be done but it's not a recommended best practice. Your best option is to bridge SSL back to the web server to make it more secure.

I understand the issue, but how do I get around the certificate issue where the SSL cert on the ISA server has the name of external.mysite.com and the internal website has a different name (internal.mysite.com)?  Am I just missing something?

I guess a wildcard certificate (*.mysite.com)  would accomplish what I need to do.

Hi Scott,

or you can issue two certificates.
