i have 30 computers connected directly to the internet all using real Ip address, DNS and subnet configuration given by the ISP..

now however i would like to add a ISA server for caching ONLY but still keep the real Ip addresses, and ISP dns, subnet config on the clients..

how this could be achived...

Hi Boss,

What I'd do with the ISA firewall is use it to protect that public address segment. You can even use a route Network Rule, no problem with that. Enable caching and the ISA firewall protects and caches for you and shores up the gaping holes in the security provided by any so-called "hardware" firewalls you might have.

HTH,
Tom
