"[Cool]"

I have a 2 part question.

I have setup ISA to log to my SQL DB and I have a cache rule setup to cache specific sites.

Looking thru the DB, I see several different entries in the cache column and I was wondering if someone could tell me how would I know if the item was returned from the cache.

I think a 0x4 = cached object
what is a 0x0?
what is a 0x40001002?
What other entries could I see in that column and what could they mean?

==========================

In my cache rules, I setup my cache to store the objects for a very long time (between 4-40 weeks for right now, perhaps more later) so to reduce the bandwidth consumption of users surfing the net. I set it so that it retrives from the net if an object is not in the cache but I am hoping that the cache will actually become static enough so that the pages do not update as to deter the users from bothering with the sites in question.

If I set my cache drive to a large enough limit, would this be an ideal way to create a static page so that the page is always in cache and doesn't get retrieved from the net. What would a user have to do to force the page to update from the net? I kow the Ctrl-F5 combo does a forced update and would that force ISA to update it's own cache?

Thanks!

Hi Dino,

Check the Performance Monitor for the ISA firewall. There are a number of counters dedicated to the ISA firewall's Web proxy filter.

HTH,
Tom

But how do I decypher the SQL logs when I generate a report?

I need to be able to use the SQL logs when I make my reports, not the performance counters.
