Hi everyone,

I'm currently trying to create a working web publishing rule for our company's Microsoft CRM website.
At first all I did was to create a quite generic rule which didn't work that well.
When I tried to access https://external.com/crm I found that a certain image within that webpage for example was linked to https://external.com/_common/errors/image.gif where it had to be to https://external.com/crm/_common/errors/image.gif.
After I added a link translation to the rule telling it to translate /_common to /crm/_common it worked.
Only a few clicks later I found out that links to other subdirectories of the web root had to be translated as well.
Right now der rule contains link translations to all sub directories within the web root but it still doesnt work properly.

Does anyone of you know about a short description of how to publish that site ?

I've not yet managed to get it working.
I even wrote a script to add link translations for all subdirectories. No luck so far.

This is really starting to become a problem

I think it's supposed to work, but I've never tried it.

Hi Tom,

I don't know if it's supposed to work. All I know is that it doesn't.
It rather looks like the CRM web application expects you to explicitly publish it to the root of your public server url (e.g. crm.mycompany.com) and not to a subdirectory (e.g. portal.mycompany.com/crm).
I recently found that a SharePoint 2007 web publishing rule "works" the same way.

Most likely that's true. Try doing it the typical way and see if that works for you.
