Hi Experts,

Can ISA 2006 ( Any Edition) has functionality to act as IDS/IPS.
Your suggestions will be appreciated.

Hi inderrathore,
by default ISA 2006(you will want to use the latest version), an advanced application inspection firewall, has some IDS/IPS protection .
scroll down this page and find Intrusion Detection:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/isa/2006/flood_resiliency.mspx
you will also find in this page very good information about how ISA is dealing with attacks.
I think there are some add-ons to extend its IDS capabilities, check this:
http://www.isaserver.org/software/ISA/Intrusion-Detection/
I can't help you with them because I have never used them.
by the way for what/where exactly(if you can answer of course) do you need this IDS/IPS?
if you really want advanced IDS/IPS you might need to look at an IDS/IPS machine and put it in the right position related to ISA Firewall as your network requires.
