Hi,

We are using ISA 2004 on Windows 2003 as a proxy server. From workstations (XP, Vista or 7) we have no problem.

But from Windows 2008 server, IE always prompts username/password except if we disable "Integrated Windows Authentication". And in the ISA Log I find "status 12206" and username is "anonymous"

By the way, on TS Windows 2008 it is not necessary to disabled "IWA".

Which differencs at security level between Windows 2008 with and without TS ?

Regards,

Raphael

Is the Windows 2008 Server a domain member?

If I follow you correctly you’re saying that when logging in through TS you don’t get challenged but logging through the console you do; correct? If that is the case I would have to ask if you’re logging in on the 2008 server with domain credentials using domain\username? What is ISA monitoring and logging showing when you access from the server console? With Windows server 2008 there are several security enhancements; some of which could cause authentication issues that you’re experiencing.  It all depeds on how the server was configured for intra-domain access. Is the windows firewall active and did you properly configure the network options? Obviously by disabling “IWA” you’re forcing NTLM instead of Kerbros challenge so you need to determine what’s broken with Kebros authentication.
