Does anyone know of a good tool for tracking, logging, and blocking chat, IM, and P2P on ISA 2006? I have talked to Akonix and their product would meet our needs, but they say it is not ready for ISA 2006. Anyone know of anything like it that will work?

Thanks Tarek. I don't think GFI currently has a product that is going to do it for me on this particular issue.

Aknoix actually allows you to not only block and track, but also limit who can talk to who via IM and also structure screen names so the fit a corporate standard. i found another product called IMAuditor, I'm going to check with them and see how they can fit in with ISA.

GFI WM4 Does have the WebGrade Database, which can block sites by category .

It does block P2P, IM, Anony proxy ...etc

Chadlnc,

I have used ISA2006 filters to block access to IM, this works well, I am sure it can be adapted to filter P2P also.

What I then do is via an AD group, allow group members access to IM.

What this of course does not do is log the content of the chat, but cheaper than buying a 3rd party app.

Does anyone know of a way to �record the chat content� or block the ability to file transfer over IM?

Personally, I do not want to record people chat, but I do want to stop them transferring out files over IM!

If I can solve that problem then I can allow more people access to IM and I will then end up on more Christmas cards lists as a direct result

U can do this by blocking the following content type : application/x-msnmsgrp2p
