Hi,

I've got a problem with ISA Server 2004 beta 2. The setup is as follows:

- ISA server with 2 NICs (broadcastable and internal IP), acting as a firewall.
- DMZ with a Linux (Debian) web server, broadcastable IP.
- Internal network with intranet server (Debian as well), internal IP.

I'm trying to get the DMZ web server to fetch information from a MySQL db located on the intranet server, but the two boxes don't seem to communicate. The log file is of no help, it simply logs the attempt as denied, without listing the denying rule, just like the "Bizarre VPN Problems" -thread here somewhere. So maybe it's a routing problem, how do I fix it?

I've tried to set up access rules but they only seem to work on the intraserver; it can ping and ssh into the DMZ web server, but not vice versa. I've tried so many combinations that the entire thing is beginning to be quite boring and I'm this close to dumping the idea of running ISA.

Any ideas? I'm not too familiar with firewalls in general, just got stuck with this job... "[Razz]"

Hi Hazi,

You need to create an access rule that allows outbound access from the DMZ to the Internal network host using the required protocol. Have you created a Network rule defining the traffic between the DMZ and the Internal network?

HTH,
Tom
