I've had our ISA server running for 2 months and it hasn't had any problems. I have caching enabled and it's been pretty darn speedy. However I'm starting to notice some web sites are starting to have connection problems and they're timing out. I'm not sure if it's on our side or the hosts side.

Does the fact that I haven't restarted my ISA server in 2 months have anything to do with performance like this? I know that periodically restarting a system is usually a good idea.. but I want a little feedback first.

It's a Win2003 box with all the latest service packs for 2003, ISA, and our surfcontrol program.

Any insight is welcome, Thanks!!!

We do have an issue with DNS not working correctly on my domain controller. We revamped the network and redid the entire address range and scheme between buildings. When we did this we switched DHCP onto a Nortel application. However, because Nortel isn't microsoft DNS does not update from the DHCP range. All hardcoded static machines appear in DNS though.

I've noticed some of my network applications don't function 100% because of this DNS problem. I'm not sure how to get DNS updating correctly without switching back to Microsoft DHCP.

DNS is working, but it's not showing up in the windows records..

Whenever you have timeout, do a nslookup for the website you are trying to reach. If you can resolve the name from a client inside your LAN, the DNS may not be the problem.

How many NICs does your ISA server have? If you have two, please tell us your NIC's DNS configurations.
