Hello,

I'm looking at colocating a few servers in an Internet datacentre so that our company can host our website, email, dns and also do the same for some of our clients.

I was wondering if ISA 2000/2004 server is robust enough to handle being the firewall for this type of scenario?

Essentially I envision a multi-homed server that has ISA installed on it. 1 NIC to the net, the other to the internal network.

The external interface would have multiple public IP addresses assigned to it. Each IP address would map to an internal server (DNS, SMTP, WWW, etc).

I was wondering if this type of architecture would work well and is appropriate? Would this be a valid use for ISA server?

I'm a little scared about using a microsoft product as my only firewall but if the product is robust enough then I don't mind.

Also: Is there any info. regarding what type of hardware would be required? I wouldn't want this server to be a bottleneck. Can it operate as a "line speed" firewall? (100Mbit).
