Hi,
I am working as a System Admin and we have ISA 2004 Enterprise edition deployed as Firewall, VPN and Proxy. We have connected it through 2 MBPS 1:1 line through Cisco 1700 Series Router. All the client workstations are configured with ISA 2004 Firewall Client. As read in many posts that the external interface of ISA computer should not be configured with the ISP DNS server addresses. Only to be included in Forwarders Tab of Local DNS server. Create a rule in ISA to forward these entries from Local DNS server to External . After doing the above configurations by removing the Publc DNS entries from ISA's external interface, Internet speed fluctuates and speed will not be normal so I switched to back to old settings of configuring the public DNS entries to external interface.

Our issue in the site is sometimes, Internet speed drops without modifying any changes. In a week 4 days it works fine and 2 days it doesn't, speed drops. I even checked in the event logs of ISA server, nothing major errors are listed. When I run the ISA best Practioner Analyser Test, I see the message " Could not contact the Primary DNS server" Primary DNS server failed.

We have also Site to Site VPN Ipsec configured between two locations and how to improve the upload speeds to the site.

Can you please help us to configure for the speed to be consistent.
