Hello,

I´m trying to allow users to change their passwords through owa, because a lot of users are remote and only have access through owa.

I tried to configure both solutions: IISADMPWD & the forms based solution with ISA 2006.

1.) IISADMPWD:
The user can change his password using OWA -> Options -> change password. But in case the password is expired or in activedirectoy -> users I check "user must change password next log on" , then the user can not change his password using owa. The user even can not log in into owa. The ISA Server says, password, domain or username is wrong. I think my ISA Server 2006 Enterprise (no domain member) makes this trouble, because when trying to login using the same useraccount from inside (LAN), I can log into owa and I`m instantly redirected to iisadmpwd.

How can I fix this? In my opinion it should be a configuration issue regarding isa 2006.

2.) ISA Forms:
I tried to configure ISA 2006 to allow changing password.
- I configured my owa listener to display those options
- I am using LDAPS because ISA 2006 is not a member of my domain
- I used ldp.exe from the ISA Server to check the ldaps connection to my domaincontroller and verify that everything is ok with the certificates and so on.
- For LDAPS bind from ISA to Domaincontroller I am using  an service account (domain administrator)
- Users can log in using OWA
- But users can not change the password using the owa forms created by the isa server. ISA displays the form, where users have to enter the old password and two times the new password, but when pressing the button "change password" I am getting an errorpage:

Errorcode: 500 internal Servererror.
unknown error (-2147467259)

How could I fix this? Or how could I analyse this problem?

Did you make a login expression in your LDAPS setup? eg. DOMAIN\* or *@DOMAIN

And the remember, when you login you'll have to login using your full username, for instance: domain\<username>, if you use only <username> you'll get HTTP error 500 when you try to change your password.

Hello nostrarasmus,

yes I´ve done login expressions in my LDAP setup. But I do not have to user full username (domain\user) it also works just using the user name. But for troubleshooting I also tried to change the password using the full username. Same problem here. I just get those white error website. I think I will open a microsoft call.

Okay. Perhaps you should try to install this hotfix before you call M$.
