I am planning an ISA Server 2006 implementation so I can publish OWA on Exchange Server 2003.  Two ISA Servers will reside in a workgroup located in the DMZ.  How many NICS do I need in each server to support NLB and Enterprise?  Can I get away with 2, one for the private side and one for the public?  The public will host the VIP.  Is there a need to have an addtional NIC to support the IntraArray communications?

Thanks

Rustom

Hi Rustom,

Yes, in this scenario, you probably won't be hit by the lack of an intra-array network, since CARP isn't used for inbound connections.

Make sure you have an internal and external interface, though. Avoid the unihomed hork mode config at all costs!

HTH,
Tom
