Hi,

On Your Clients Machines:

1- Set the DG to point to ISA Server
2- Set the DNS to point to your Internal DNS Server

On Your ISA Server :

1- Create a rule allow> protocols> From Internal > To External > All Users
2- create a rule for your DNS Server , read here : http://elmajdal.net/isaserver/Internal_DNS_Forwarding.aspx

HTH,
Tarek

If you don't have a DNS Server, then you can configure your Internal LAN card (If you have) to point to your ISP's DNS server..

What would it take to configure a proper DNS Server ?? few minutes ?

have an Internal DNS Server, and make it responsible for forwarding requests to your ISPs DNS Server.

in the Forwarder tab, configure the list of the IPs for both ISP DNS Servers.

1- Set the DG to point to ISA Server
2- Set the DNS to point to your Internal DNS Server

Hi Guys,

This is all good and well when the client resides on the same subnet as the FW, to enable it to point to the FW as DG...
.... but when the client resides on another subnet and has to use a remote router's eth interface as a DG to get to the subnet where the FW resides?

My situation is as follows:
FW in subnet 1 serves as internet gateway for all, with a WAN link (internal to FW view) to a remote site subnet 2 from where i need to get clients (customers) to access the internet, via the FW in subnet 1, without having to enter proxy information into their browser or load any software, being customers' machines and all.

The solution works 100% with pointing client to FW as DG when on local subnet where the FW resides, but when on remote subnet... it does not work....

Subnet 1 Router points to the FW as DG for connections comming from remote subnet via WAN.

I was thinking of installing a FW in the remote site subnet 2 and setup as DG for local clients requiring this config and have that forward to the FW in subnet 1, but would like to run this as seamless as possible without spending time and resources on another fw in subnet 2

any ideas?

thanks in advance
Niel Kruger
