In order to create a Site to Site VPN we have decided to remove ISA 2004 from our SBS 2003 machine and put a Standard version of ISA 2004 on a dedicated machine at the network edge.  However, we had quite a few customized settings for ISA on SBS and of course SBS configured many settings on its own.  Is it OK (will it work) to simply expoort the ISA settings on the SBS machine and then import them into the new dedicated network-edge machine?

I'm most concerned about SBS services like RWW, OWA, etc.

Thanks!

I would not advise a complete restore. System policy rules are different for a SBS installation.

Could you clarify "complete" restore.  It sounds to me like you would go through with importing the firewall settings, then take out the ones causing problems.

Thanks.

Yes, I would not use the ISA backup and restore option but instead do an export and import individually. Even with doing so, you’re probably going to have to edit each FW policy to make sure the settings are correct.
