Hi all. I know ISA2000 with SP1a can run on 2003 Server but can it also run on Server 2008?

Hi,

Only the future version of ISA Server will be able to be installed on a 64bit Windows Server 2008.

All the current and previous versions of ISA Server ( 2000 -2004- 2006) can not be installed on Windows Server 2008.

Actually, you will be able to install it, but only the MMC Part, the Firewall Engine will not be installed

Hi

I thought Exchange 2007 is 64bit but that the 2008 Server will be the last server that will be 32 & 64 bit.

I need to move and ISA2000 server to a 2003 server platform. I know that it will require SP1A to work. Is there any other issues for ISA 2000?

Thanks for your input

Dr Tom's a nice bloke. He creates all kinda helpful articles
http://www.isaserver.org/tutorials/installon2003.html

Microsoft's knowledge base article
Running ISA Server on Windows Server 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331062

should be all you need!

There Are Windows Server 2008 32bit & 64Bit.

But the future ISA Server will ONLY be installed on the 64bit one.

irrespective of the 'version', it would make sense that if you upgrade the operating systems, you also woudl upgrade the 'applications' (Including ISA Server) that run on them..
I doubt very few of us are still running trumpet winsock for the TCPIP stack on our XP/Vista machine.
Why woudl you run ISA2000/2004 or even 2006 on a Server 2008 machiine if a later version was available for use? Featuresets expand to build upon what the underlying O/S can deliver - use it!!!
