Its been addressed before but the link http://isaserver.org/tutorials/Firewall-Logging-Microsoft-SQL-database.html does not solve my problem.
Aparently the isa server will kill the microsoft firewall if it cannot find the sql server to log to.
When i try to hit the test button when setting up isa 2006 to log to an sql server it tells me that the connection failed due to an error in initializing provider server does not exist or access denied.
I dont know how to add users in the sql for access but i can only find guests and public as the users. So after trying windows auth it still doesnt work.. anyone got any ideas ?

Aparently the sql server managment studio express has no problem connecting to the database.

Could it be its merely the user auth thats wrong ?
I cant create users for the sql database. only use guest or public which doesnt help me a whole lot. though i did set it up to use windows auth so that shouldnt matter.. or am i wrong ?

Hi,

Configure the Alert Definition so that it doesn't do that.
