Hello,

I wanted to publish an RDP Server in my Internal network, but when I get to the point in the Server Publishing process where I pick what protocol to publish, I don't see RDP, as well as others. Why would that be?

Hi tad_braun,

of course the list is not complete. It just contain the most common ones! [Big Grin]

Therefore you have to create a new protocol definition 'RDP Server' with the parameters TCP port 3389 Inbound. This protocol definition will than show up in the list of mapped server protocols in your server publishing rule.

HTH,
Stefaan

Hello,

RDP is a common protocol that is already defined in the Firewall Policy Toolbox tab, though. It's listed under All Protocols. Why wouldn't something that is common and already defined show up as usable when creating a new Server Publishing Rule?

Hi Tad,

That is an outbound RDP protocol def. For publishing rules, the primary connection needs to be set for Inbound. I agree, they should create a built-in inbound RDP protocol definition that's included with the server.

HTH,
Tom

Big T,

Thank you! That's a definitive answer...as long as I know that, I'm cool with making the new protocol def...
