Hi

I am actually trying to publish 2 Exchange 2007 CAS with ISA 2006.
It is easy to publish OWA/ActiveSync/Outlook Anywhere using the wizard and a web farm. But I do not find a way to publish POP/SMTP/IMAP to both servers.
I can only enter 1 IP when publishing one of this protocols.

I can't use Windows NLB on Exchange Servers as they are running under VMware ESX and NLB does not work well when virtual machines are moved from one host to another.

Is there a way to tell ISA that I wanna publish theses protocols like a web farm and sending request one time to first Exchange CAS and next time to the other?

Nice idea, but no. Web Farm load balancing only works for Web farms, not SMTP or POP3 or IMAP4 farms

Really sad :(
Hope they will do something like that for next version of ISA or add it in service pack

Why not use NLB?

Thanks!
Tom

Windows NLB is hard to use under Vmware

Can be the source of problems when Virtual Machines moves from one host to another

There is a KB explaining how to do this, but too late to test as our infrastructure is already in place, and I do not want to do changes on ESX Hosts servers which are on production (it would be a disaster if a change produce side effects)

OK, I see. Yes, NLB doesn't work with VMware, becasue you need to use multicast mode with VMware and ISA doesn't support multicast mode.

Good news is that ISA 2006 SP1 will add multicast support to ISA.

HTH,
Tom
