Hi, Can somebody assist me on configuring logging services on SQL 2005. My ISA 2006 and SQL 2005 are on the same server. When I am trying to apply the logging to SQL Server, and tried to start the query there is a message error "Unable to retrieve data" from my ISA Server. What seems to be the problem here?  Thanks,John

I am having a bit of a problem setting up logging from my ISA 2006 server to a SQL 2005 server. When I setup the monitoring to the SQL server in ISA and click test all works fine. As soon as I apply the settings I get the error:

Log Failure: The Microsoft Firewall was unable to connect to the sql database. The failure is due to error: 0x80040e4d

The SQL server resides on the same server as the ISA server and im not sure if this is what the problem is?? This error totally shuts down my firewall service and won't let it restart until I turn logging back the way it was. I have created all the tables and fields with the script provided with ISA 2006.

And what does the ISA logging monitor tell you? Is it blocking the access request itself? If it is you would need to setup a rule which allows local to local access for SQL protocol.
