My environment - 2 NLB ISA 2004 servers - back end configuration. Been running for several years. NICs defined on perimeter & internal networks. Today internal users couldn't access corporate website, but external users could. All internal users NAT'd to a 10.101.2.x network. External users coming from anywhere. Checked event logs of both ISA servers - nothing unusual. Internal webservers could be accessed using the native/internal address.
So I restarted the firewall service on ISA #1, no change in behavior. As soon as I restarted ISA #2 firewall service (after ISA #1 service & NLB cleared up), internal users were again able to access the website.
Apparently ISA #2 was having an issue - why didn't ISA #1 take over & direct users to the available website?

My boss is looking for a logical explanation... what can I tell him???
