I've setup a ISA2006 to be used as a webproxy only (using only one interface), I'm using a checkpoint as the firewall. It's up and running and proxying HTTP/HTTPS just fine. I've also setup so that RealAudio/Media is allowed to be proxied through, which is also working like a charm. However MMS traffic seems hard to get through the ISA-server. I've got all the add-ins on for streaming, RTSP, PNA and MMS. I've got a rule allowing all that traffic from Internalnet to everywhere. Internal, external, localhost (also tried just using external). I set my Windows Media player to use the proxyserver for HTTP, RTSP and MMS. This is what my log says: (10.11.1.90 being my pc and 10.11.1.220 the proxyserver) 10.11.1.90 Proxyserver - TCP - - 2007-01-18 12:18:18 1193 1047 0 0 0x8007274d WSAECONNREFUSED 0x0 0x0 Firewall - 2007-01-18 13:18:18 10.11.1.220 554 RTSP Failed Connection Attempt MMS_rule 10.151.1.90 Internal Local Host - - Here's the webpage I tried to play the MMS streams from, but it seems to be the same where ever I try to play them. http://www.orebroll.se/uso/pagewide____10277.aspx After that I see my pc connecting to the internet directly using RTSP. (this in the firewall log) I've seen lots of questions on the subject but no solutions. Thanks in advance, Johan

I was testing this today, with some sites that do streaming. What I wanted to see was if the streaming went through the proxy. I'm using an autoconfig script created by ISA2006Enterprise. I did a check on if I manually put the proxy in, and there is no protocols for mms or rtsp to redirect it through the proxy. On my checkpoint fw i'm seeing the same thing, http request through proxy, then rtsp direct. My thought is the MMS and RTSP filters only work if you are inline similiar to the way smartdefense inspection works...it has to see the MMS or RTSP traffic to do anything with it. It appears in the browser you can only do http/secure/ftp, and something else, I don't recall. Also in WM11 I noticed for HTTP you can set it to use the browser settings, but for RTSP there is no use browser settings, but you can tell it to direct rtsp to a rtsp proxy...not sure you could set the rtsp to point to proxy:8080 or whatever you proxy port is. But then you'll have to configure all your end users with this rtsp setting. I wonder how RealPlayer is doing it. Let me go test this...Alright, I setup wm11 to use my proxy:8080 as rtsp proxy, but it's still going direct anyway

RealAudio/Media runs smoothly through the ISA2006. If you set realplayer to use the proxy for PNA/RTSP it works like a charm. I tried MMS/RTSP for windows media player 9, let me know if you find anything that works through the ISA2006! I'm well prepared to apply these settings to all workstations (just a matter of a group policy or using login script), as long as it works :)
