Including MSDE right in the manager is certainly new, however, how do you get rid of it? I know you can "stop" the service within the ISA2k4 manager, however, the instance is still running and if you try to stop that instance it forces the firewall service to stop as well.

Is this something that ISA now heavily relies on even for text logs files or logging to external SQL servers?

Thanks for any input anyone may have on this.

Hi Tim,

Sure looks like it. If you try to stop the services from the Services console, you can see that a number of ISA firewall services are also stopped.
