Dear Friends,
I need to only use MSN to message of text, I use Isa 2004, MSN is working but users can send an receive files.
I need to block the users, to don't send or receive files using the MSN messenger.
I have read some documentation but don't work anything.
I need to allow user to only send and receive message, and not files, audio, webcan.
If anyone can help me.
Best Regards
Cristiano

Hi Christiano,
What are the details of the access rule allowing them access to file transfers now?
Thanks! Tom

psicorat, your ISA server config is very screwed! Most people have trouble getting MSN file transfers and audio-chat working, as these require other ports to be open/enabled/allowed. It is likely there is another rule on your ISA server that is "allowing everything" hence the file transfers. What you need to do is backup your configuration, then carefully remove all the firewall rules, leaving just the deny-all default rule in place. Then add rules allowing web access, email access, DNS acces etc. For the MSN rule, if you allow just port 1863 then they will only be able to use text-chat. For file transfers to work port 6891 would be open. If this port isn't open then they can't transfer files, unless they use SKYPE.

pls see www.hypothetic.org/docs/msn/client/file_transfer.php
I think can use Signature in ISA 2004 to block file transfer.
there are Signature EUF-GUID: {5D3E02AB-6190-11D3-BBBB-00C04F795683} for fiel transfer in MSnp2p
my email is Jethro.Guo@163.com, if pass ,pls notify me.
