Hello, I have ISA Server 2004 running, it delivers the emails to an internal Exchange Server, but when I install the message screener it holds all messages, even the ones that do not meet the criteria. I get this message in the log:

Hold Policy rule stamp could not be found in the message; taking default action

I have rules to block emails with executable file extensions only.

What I'm missing?

Another question, in the article http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/2004emaildefenseindepth.html

the figure for the Configure SMTP Protocol Policy window has 4 tab, in my ISA I'm missing the General tab was this taken away in Beta 2???

Any help would be appreciated, thanks,

Thanks,

Hi Fhvd,

Is the Exchange Server configured to use the ISA firewall's outbound SMTP relay as a smart host? Do you have a rule that allows the firewall outbound access to SMTP?

Thanks!
Tom

Hello Tom, my problem is inbound, sorry I wasn't clear on my post, I can send emails and receive emails when message screener is not installed, but when I install the message screener I can only send emails, the firewall blocks all incoming emails.

I just configured the smart host for exchange to give it a try, and the rule to allow outbound SMTP for the firewall was already configured.

Thanks, for your help.

Hi,

When you mentioned the later build where can we get it because I would like to enable OMA and ActiveSync through ISA.

Hi David,

Its an internal build, so I think the full functionality won't be available in general until the product RTMs.

HTH,
Tom
