Tom,
I'm having trouble getting CARP to work with NLB. I have an array with two members. Each member has 3 network interfaces. One for the Internal, External and Intra-Array network. NLB works perfect for SecureNAT and WebProxy Clients.
But I get trouble when I enable CARP, let all clients and downstream Proxy Servers use the Automated Configuration Script (http://proxy.parentdomain.nl:8080/array.dll?Get.Routing.Script)
When one of the array members gets offline the clients keep trying to connect to that specific member and are unable to connect. I do no have fault taulerance anymore.
Can you use CARP and NLB together??? If yes, on wich array-level network do I enable CARP? (Internal, Local Host and/or Intra-Array Network?)
I will host more than 10.000 clients, so I have to make the best out of it. I hope you can advise me.
Kind regards,
Boudewijn Plomp

I'm no expert, but according to the books I have read, you can use both.
You need to enable CARP on the NLB link - itĘs counter-intuitive. Its like NLB traffic - it should be passed over the private link.
I have NLB turned off right now, so I can not help with you other questions. CARP and WPAD seem to be working pretty well right now, but I have limited this array to IS personnel only for my test bed.
My eventual load will be less than your (~3000).

Hi TJ,
Thanks for your responce. I don't have the time-out problem anymore. But I still need to know on wat interfaces to enable CARP. When you want to use the Scheduled download you also have to enable it on the Local Host. For server-side CARP you seem to enable it on the Intra-Array network, but some other information show you should not. Without NLB on the Intra-Array network and only 2 members I don't know if that is neccesary.
Greetings,
Boudewijn
