I've done something stupid in error. While setting up two groups to allow the ISA server to administer and monitored, I accidentally set the builtin Administrator account to monitor and not my ISA Server monitor users group. I’m no longer able to administer the ISA Server, is there a way to reset or change the ISA Server roles back to default, without me rebuilding the server, as I’m sure the a simple uninstall and reinstall will not do the job. Thanks Chris

Can't you log in locally (builtin\administrator) and modify your settings ?

i've already tried to login in as local admin and i've been into safe mode too. as i said, i changed the builtin\administrator account to monitor only. In my ISA Server Admin Group I've even created a new user with the only group membership being ISA Server Admin and still no success. it's looking like i'll need to reformat and rebuild.

Thanks for those links fixitchris, but unfortunately I can't backup the configure as it is tell me access denied as it can't access the store. I'm using Standard Edition of ISA Server 2006, and i've tried other backup configuration scripts and it tells me that it can't find the Array, which I assume this is to do with Enterprise Edition of ISA Server. I am Admin in the machine, just not Admin on ISA Server 2006 and I can't modifty, repair or uninstall ISA Server.

Access Denied is what I expected. I would try an ISA microsoft.public newsgroup to get assistance from MS directly. Good luck.
