Hello,

Intermittently we are receiving 5783 and 5719 errors in our System Log with the following message:

For 5719--

This computer was not able to set up a secure session with a domain controller in domain AB due to the following:
The remote procedure call was cancelled.
This may lead to authentication problems. Make sure that this computer is connected to the network.
If this computer is a domain controller for the specified domain,
it sets up the secure session to the primary domain controller emulator in the specified domain.
Otherwise, this computer sets up the secure session to any domain controller in the specified domain.

For 5783--

The session setup to the Windows NT or Windows 2000 Domain Controller
\\dc1.ab.cd.com for the domain AB is not responsive.
The current RPC call from Netlogon on \\PROXY1 to \\dc2.ab.cd.com has been cancelled.

This happens when or if we restart our server and intermittently throughout the day. I have done some research in which there was a hotfix for ISA 2004 to solve the RPC communications between Windows 2003 SP1 and ISA 2004; but since we are running ISA 2006 on a Windows 2003 SP1, is there a hotfix out there?

Is there some tip on a configuration setting that anyone may assist with?

Hope someone can lend a hand on this.

Thank you

Here is what I did to correct this problem:

I created an Access Rule and a computer set depending on how many domain controllers you have on you network.

The computer I used would be my ISA Server.
The computer set would be my two domain controllers.
The protocol is the RPC Endpoint Mapper (protocal 135)
All protected networks

Once the rule was created, I restarted the server to see if I get any NetLogon errors. No errors appeared.

I have been monitoring this for the past couple of hours, and the event log appears clean.

If anyone has any questions on this, please feel free to let me know :)

I use to have the same problem and i work around it in a similar way.
I would like to know why this happens and why the actually system policy rules
do not work properly?
