Dear all,

We have a ADSL connection with a Cisco router configured as a gateway for all the users.
Internal network - 10.0.0.2 10.0.0.255
Geteway(router)- 10.0.0.1

I planned to implement new ISA server 2006 with two network cards . I assigned one of the NIC (internal) to a ipaddress -10.0.0.3

What ipaddress should i put for external NIC? anyone please help me.

Hi,

Check this article : Configuring ISA Server Interface Settings.

Internet--------Router 192.168.0.1 ---------- 192.168.0.2 ISA 10.0.0.1-----------10.0.0.x LAN

ISA Server Network Interfaces should not be on the same subnet.

It seems to me that if your ADSL router is already using 10.x.x.x addresses, then NAT is already being performed by the ADSL router.

Two more assumptions: I would assume you want all traffic to go through the ISA box and, in this case, I would also assume that the internal IP of the router is now going to be the gateway IP for ISA's external NIC.

Here's what I've got invisioned...

Router (int NIC) ISA Firewall                        Internal Network
10.0.0.1              10.0.0.3 (ext NIC)
                          192.168.0.1 (internal NIC)  192.168.x.x

The external NIC on the firewall has to point to the Router. Therefore, it's on the 10.x.x.x network.

The internal NIC on the firewall is pointing to the local network. I would recommend reconfiguring this network to use a different range of IP addresses. In this case, set the internal NIC on ISA to 192.168.0.1 and configure all of the internal clients with 192.168.0.x addresses.

Make sure the internal network clients use 192.168.0.1 as thier default gateway.

Hi,

NAT is already configured on the Cisco router . If i configure ISA with two NIC , ISA will also do another NAT operation.

Is Double NAT supported in a network?
If supported then how about the internet speed performace ? will slow down?
