Hi everyone, Newbie. I have been tasked with installing ISA 2006, I have installed ISA and used the single nic template. I have made reg changes, as I have sp2 installed. Prior to ISA being installed I was able to gain internet access, now I can't. I have gone through the firewall settings and can't notice anything wrong. If I do a trace I can see packets being sent out? Any ideas? Thanks

Hi, quote:
I have been tasked with installing ISA 2006, I have installed ISA and used the single nic template. I have made reg changes, as I have sp2 installed. Single Nic? (Hork mode) Why? You should have at least two NICs installed and configured to take full advantage of ISA's feature-rich capabilities as a firewall! http://www.microsoft.com/technet/isa/2004/plan/single_adapter.mspx quote:
Prior to ISA being installed I was able to gain internet access, now I can't. I have gone through the firewall settings and can't notice anything wrong. You won’t until you configure some access rules and configure your computers as ISA clients. (Web Proxy, Firewall or SecureNAT clients) By default, ISA is locked down. Since you are running in “hork mode” you have no Firewall and the only protocol access you are going to have through ISA is HTTP, HTTPS and FTP. SecureNAT and Firewall client access is not supported. Only Web Proxy client access is supported. If you are trying to access the Internet from the ISA local host, you will need to edit the ISA system policy to enable access and then edit the System policy allowed sites set with the URL's that you want to access from ISA. quote:
If I do a trace I can see packets being sent out? Yes. Have you tried using ISA monitoring and logging? HTH RB
