Our network has 2 public dns servers and 2 internal dns servers. I do published the 2 public dns server using public ip address as registered in our isp nameserver.

The primary public dns server always works. the secondary dns server usually works fine for a period of time, then i got the no response from it.

when i examined the isa server log, i can see that there's no traffic coming for that secondary public dns server until the public nic disabled and enable back again. After that, i did run dns test (www.dnsreport.com) and it works.

Primary DNS Server IP: XXX.XXX.XXX.243
Secondary DNS Server IP: XXX.XXX.XXX.244
ISA Server Public IP: XXX.XXX.XXX.243

Those public DNS Server reside in the DMZ zone using private ip address.

Please take note that the public NIC use multiple public IP Address.

The packet did not reach the secondary dns server at all. i can see that there no traffic coming to the XXX.XXX.XXX.244 on the public nic.

After some time, theres no traffic from the external network too.

i've to disabled and enable the external nic to make everything works again.
