Good day

I have a Cisco Router through which I am attempting to connect to the internet (via bonded ADSL).  DHCP has been configured on the router and connected to the ISA server in the second (external facing) NIC.

When I make the connection it gives the message of network cable unplugged and therefore does not connect to the internet.

I use a laptop outside of the network using DHCP to connect to the router and it works first time every time.

I can use a server (not ISA) from inside of the network and this also connects immediately.

Is there something within the ISA box that could possibly be blocking the access?  Clearly it is not blocking all internal traffic as the non isa server can connect. The only problem seems to be with the ISA box itself.

Any help much appreciated.

Chris

Hi,

it seems not to be with ISA box, but maybe with the network adapter that you are connecting. The message is clear, "network cable unplugged".
Try to install another NIC in your machine.

Paulo, it is not the nic either because at present this is connected to a standard adsl business broadband router and works fine.  I am changing to a bonded adsl connection using the same nic and cable but connecting to a different router and with different addresses.

Intasar

It is ISA Standard edition 2006 and I will take a look at this on Monday.  I assume from your description that this will add in the option for DHCP to assign addresses to the External facing NIC from the Cisco Router?

Thanks for your comments
