OMA and Local ActiveSync - 19.Feb.2008 11:17:14 AM

We have an SBS 2003 premium server which supports OMA on various devices via a dynamic ip address name like someipaddress.co.uk. Each device has a copy of the self signed ISA certificate on it and this all works very well.

When user plugs a mobile device into a workstation for charging or whatever Activesync reports that it cant find the server which is quite understandable as the certificate points to the external address of itself.

To get round this I added a split dns so that someipaddress.co.uk points to the LAN ip of our sbs box when queried from the local network.

The problem I have now is that Activesync reports a different error and the ISA logs show that the SSL-Tunnel is denied?

Does anyone know why this is and or how to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

in isa managment find the rule the CEICW created for OMA. go into the listener properties and add the internal network. (should currently only be external)

Thanks for the reply but that does not appear to work, activesync error remains unchanged and ISA log shows the following...

Failed Connection Attempt

Status: 995 The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request.

do your machines use the firewall client? or just web proxy client?

try adding the destination to the 'bypass proxy' list

the other thing to mention is the internal active sync raffic is not being picked up by the OMA publishing rule, so you may need to look at rule position.

We are using the firewall client.

I am obviously missing something here, I really dont see why ISA is blocking this from a valid IP on the local network?
