Initially posted over at MSExchange.org...possibly an ISA issue.

http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/SSL_Enabling_OWA_2003.html

Following the above article I am preparing to implement Mobile Access/ActiveSync.

Everything moved smoothly until I got to the "getting the pending request accepted" step.  After pasting the information from the text file and clicking submit I get this error.

Request Dispostion Message: Denied by Policy Module. The request was for a certificate template that is not supported by the Certificate Services policy: Webserver

I retried with the other template choices and received a corresponding denial.

I opened my CA and looked in the templates folder, and they are all there.  I found a different article from another site which indicated using a standalone CA which I tried.  The enrollment worked fine in this scenario.  (I also tried selfSSL which worked fine up to that point as well.)

The problem I'm having now is that though OWA has been published through ISA2000 for a couple of years now, once I enabled SSL I get zero access through https externally (internal works fine).  I do receive the proper error when I try the external http address (this page must be viewed over a secure channel) so it appears that OWA is responding to external requests.  But when I type the https address it immediatly gives me "Internet Explorer cannot display the web page".   I installed the certificate in trusted root CAs on ISA and no dice.

Securing OWA is really a secondary consideration here.  We're trying to get Mobile Access/ActiveSync going, but I know they're tied together.

Thanks for the help.

Paul
