Hi guys,

Just installed a new ISa 2006 box, publishing my sharepoint wss3 server.

The publishing is all fine, apart from one thing.

When a user attempts to export a list to a spreadsheet we are prompted with..

Internet Explorer cannot download owssvr.dll from nameofmyserver.domain.com
Internet Explorer was not able to open this internet site. The requested site is either unavilable or cannot be found, please try again later.

Bit of a pain as exporting a list to a spreadsheet aparently is an important part of how the site is used - dont ask me i just support it ;-)

So the question is how do i fix it?

The rule is a standard ISA2006 sharepoint publishing rule. Using FBA - but i did try switching it over to HTTP with basic, but that didnt change a thing.

The export works perfectly internally.

Any he;p is very much apreciated :-)

Hey there,

We've just started routing our SharePoint site through ISA and are hitting the same problem re: downloading the calendar event file through OWSSVR.dll.

Did you get to the bottom of understanding how to enable it?

Help appreciated (new to ISA Server)

yeah i did get this resolved.

it was to do with alternate access mappings in sharepoint.

my advice on this would make your access mappings as though you would be publishing the site without ISA - so you can visit the site internally with the public dns name.

then when publishing the site use that name as the internal server.

we also had a seperate issue - after this, which i posted up and got resolved also, ill find that thread and post a link.

the way i narrowed it down to access mappngs was looking at the source html of the page in notepad (from IE click page, view source) then you can looking for links ie ctrl-f  http:// and you will probably find one internal site referenced.

you might get around it with link translation also.
