How to create firewall rule for office outlook express on ISA server 2006 ?

Hello Vimal,
You will have to create rules to allow traffic for protocols which Outlook Express use. Normally, it will be IMAP, SMTP, POP3, POP3S, IMAPS and STMTPS protocols or the HTTP if you are using Hotmail account with Outlook Express. So, all you need to do is add a rule which allows traffic from protected networks to your mail servers with any of the above protocols.

Sir,
I have added all portocol which you have suggeested (IMAP, SMTP, POP3, POP3S, IMAPS and STMTPS protocols or the HTTP but there is same error.
I have created a rule......... Mail----Allow----(IMAP, SMTP, POP3, POP3S, IMAPS,STMTPS,HTTP)-----Internal ----External----All Users.
But i can not connect to outlook.when i test send and receive sending is compleate but in receving found error.Please give me brief solution......

Dear Vimal
ur rule is correct but you should enable Internal DNS access to internet DNS(s).where is your DNS server? is it same with ISA Server or they are seperate from each other?

Hello,
sir,our DNS is different form isa server.will you tell me how to
enable Internal DNS access to internet DNS(s).ISA Server and DNS is seperate.
in our network have xp and vista cliant .In xpsp2 cliant windows mail and outlook both working fine.but in vista clinat outlook and windows mail not working.

Dear Vimal,

If you want to configure your DNS server to resolve internet names, you have 2 solutions

First one is so bad idea - to add manualy all records for internet hosts (this is useble if you want to restrict your users to visit some pages, but this is other problem that can be resolved with ISA configuration)

You need to configure your DNS to forward requests that he can`t resolve. You can use your ISP DNS for forwarder.

In this case you need to configure allowing of DNS trafic over ISA... DNS uses port 53 on UDP
