I am having a bizzare situation. I have an Exchange server, whose SMTP and SMTPS rules are published through ISA server. I have no problem at all and it is all ok. However, when I want to stop any user from accessing internet, through ISA rules, outbound mail gets stuck for as long as the allowed set of users in the ISA user-defined ALLOW ALL rule is not the built-in ALL USERS set. To clarify: In ISA server, there is a rule that I created so users can access internet. This rule is composed of:ALLOW/from INTERNAL/to EXTERNAL/ALL OUTBOUND TRAFFIC/ALL USERS. Now, to control internet access, I either create: 1 - A precedent rule to deny access to a set of certain users. 2 - Exclude that same set of certain users from the ALLOW ALL rule mentioned above. 3 - Or, introduce a permitted set of users and make it the only set of users in the ALLOW ALL rule mentioned above. Amazingly, it works as fine as expected but the three situations block outbound email on Exchange server. HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEElP. Thanks Yba

Hi Yba,
Create a rule that allows the Exchange Server outbound SMTP access.
HTH, Tom
