Every night a report job creates an irp file for that days internet usage. In past I was able to double click on this file, and it would open in Internet Explorer, and show the report. Now after accidentally changing the file association with irp files it no longer opens in IE. The following message appears instead: "You are attempting to open a file of type 'Microsoft ISA Server Report File' (.IRP) This file is used by ISA Management. Editing or modifying the file could damage the file configuration information. If you still want to open the file, click Open With, otherwise, click Cancel." If I choose Open With, I have to choose an app to open it with. No matter what I choose, the report doesn't open. Can anyone advise how I can either reverse this, or access the report files in another way? Many thanks. Col.

errm.. are you certain it was opening the files directly that they opened in IE? standard functionality is to navigate through the ISA Management console/mmc to Servers and arrays\Servername\Monitoring\Reports and then open the chosen report which will create a TEMPORARY file that opens in Internet Explorer. I tried manually associatings the .irp file with IE, dragging the file onto an open window etc all to no avail. Opening one of the files in notepad indicates they're a 'standard Jet DB' file meaning essentially custom 'mini database' (read: early MSDE etc) that wouldn't/shouldnt open directly in a browser. Hope this helps...

Hi Thanks for the confirmation. I don't use ISA very often, but accessing the reports through the MMC works OK. Out of interest, do you know how to get a report on a particular user, rather than just the top ten users?

There is no 'out of the box' report for single users. What you can do is either a) purchase a 3rd part reporting package..(see http://www.isaserver.org/software/ISA/Reporting/ for ideas) b) manually search through your ISA logfiles - eg: find "username" webd200710*.log > 1.txt will find every isntance of username in web proxy logs for November 2007 and pipe the output to a file called 1.txt from there you should be able to find out what they're viewing etc.. for free!
