I would like to P2V my ISA 2006 standard edition box to Hyper-V using System Center Virtual Machine Manager (beta). I have successfully P2V several boxes so far but run into the following error with ISA. I have tried creating a remote management access rule, and removing the "enforce strict RPC" from my internal network but still no go. I have only found one other reference (link below) to the problem on the net and it is not very helpful, recommending "dropping firewall on management network".
VMM is unable to complete the request. The connection to the agent ISA1.corp.mycompany.com was lost. Ensure that the WMI service and the agent are installed and running and that a firewall is not blocking HTTP and WMI traffic. ID: 3157 Details: The RPC server is unavailable (0x800706BA)
Create an all open rule between the SCVMM machine and the internal interface of the firewall. Make sure it's all open to the firewall and from the firewall to the SCVMM machine.
Then disable the RPC filter and reboot the firewall.
Do the P2V. After that, enable the RPC filter and delete the rule.
I realise this is an old thread, but I am trying to p2v my ISA 2006 box and I can't seem to get it started, can someone confirm the exact steps I need to follow to convert for Hyper-V please?
