How do I create a dialer (PPOE) on my ISA Server so I can directly connect my router modem to my ISA’s external port. I created a dialer but it’s not working. Here is my ISA and PPOE setup: The ISP did not configure the router-modem to dial automatically. So I used the load balancing router to auto dial it to our ISP (I supplied the password and username at the load balancing router). I want to directly connect it to ISA and have ISA auto dial it for me (I have my username and password). |--------- (<-to router modem)--------LAN card 2----| | ISA Server 2006 std (<-to our network switch)--LAN card 1---- | |--------- LAN card 1 IP: 192.168.5.250/24 (PPOE) - Router Modem Setting: Static IP: 124.105.105.77 Username: xxxxxxxx Password: xxxxxxx IP: 192.168.1.1 I want to directly connect my ISA to my Router Modem.

Hi Tom, I thought of using the ISA Server 2006 as the auto dialer for our DSL connection because I want to save the NAT device for other purposes (expansion). Anyway for other people interested in making their ISA the default dialer, I found the solution at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/837830 Thanks..

Hi Tom, The solution did work for me... all i had to do is change the IP ad of my external LAN card to be on the same network with my DSL modem/router.. It works fine.. and the ISA performs the PPPOE auto-dialing even when the system is restarted. Thanks for following up.

Hi , I was able to make it work Billion Router/Modem in bridged mode (192.168.2.254) PPPOE Connection through ISA gets public IP WAN NIC on ISA box IP in same network as Billion i.e. 192.168.2.1 , Gw 192.168.2.254 , DNS 192.168.2.254 Internal NIC on ISA box IP 10.100.100.1 gw 10.100.100.1 , DNS 192.168.2.254 PC IP static given 10.100.100.2 gw 10.100.100.1 , DNS This I had to give external DNS to make it work i.e. 203.2.75.2 Only problem which remain now is I can't still ping and do tracert though I have added PING and ICMP in policy. Regards banty
