I've setup an ISA 2006 server as a Proof Of Concept demo and I've successfully setup ISA server to perform web proxy services using the single network Template.
Servers a domain member, configured to use Integrated authentication on the Internal Network Web Proxy.
Firewall rule created to allow HTTP/HTTPS for users in a specific Security Group in the domain.
Users who are in the security group, and logged in on a XP workstations, can browe the web without any problems.
Users who are in the security group, and logged in on a W2K workstations, can not browse.  W2K users receive 4 or 5 authentication prompts before receiving following error message:
Error Code: 407 Proxy Authentication Required. The ISA Server requires authorization to fulfill the request. Access to the Web Proxy filter is denied. (12209)

Any help would be appreciated.

Problems with IE6 on W2K.

Here's what i've found since posting.
If running IE5 on a W2K machine, a user who's in the SG that's allows to browse works fine.  User is not prompted to authenticate.  ISA logs show the anonymous attempt being denied, followed by the user being allowed through.

If running unpatched IE6 on a unpatched W2K SP4 machine, user is prompted to authenticate.  ISA logs show the anonymous attempt being denied over and over.
If running fully patched IE6 on a fully patched W2K SP4 machine, user is prompted to authenticate.  ISA logs show the anonymous attempt being denied over and over.

If running IE6 on XP SP2, works fine.
Problem also exists if running the Firewall Client.

wierd

I had a client running mixed workstation without a problem.

Have you tried setting the broswer to use the autoconfig file from ISA?

Regards,

Alan
