Hi, to all:

I install a gatekeeper in my SBS 2000 server and all external users can do video/voice calls to into NetMeeting clients without problems. However when I need to call a external user (for example: in a public ILS server), then I can't communicate with it by video/voice. Knows somebody that is happening?

Hi Enrique,

Make sure NetMeeting isn't using the gatekeeper when you call ILS sites. NetMeeting cannot logged onto a gatekeeper and an ILS server at the same time.

Hi Tom:
I'm sure because if I am logged in gatekeeper I can't see ILS user list. So, I can call to users in ILS and users can respond me, the problem is that I can't communicate with audio/video with they, only text.
In the past we had a Proxy server 2.0 and with it I can communicate with public ILS users, but external users can't connect with us.

it's possible that it is a problems with ports?

Hi Enrique,

You can call them, but they cannot call you.

Make sure that you have the H.323 filter configured correctly to allow voice and video.

Excuse for my bad explanation Tom!

In this momment I've SBS 2000 with ISA Server. Gatekeeper configurate and outside clients can call me with audio and video.
However, when I need communicate with a user that is logged in a public ILS Server, then I can call but I can't use Audio and video.

Two months ago, we have SBS 4.5 with Proxy 2.0 Server. In this scenario we can call all external users loggen in public ILS servers, but external users can't call us because when we was logged in public ILS server, the ILS server took intenal IP addresses.

I think, in actual situation, the problem can be originated for a ports. Is possible?

Hi Enrique,

Do the clients have permission to use the H.323 protocol? I assume they do, because the gatekeeper is working. I know it had this working with ILS servers several months ago. Which server are you trying to connect to?

The problem uis the same with all that I tested.

ils.dipualba.es for example.

Then is a normal behavior?

How is then, the mode for connect with external clients?
In this moment, we call and say call us by the text, but I think this system is very poor.

Hi Enrique,

The ILS server is being phased out by MS. The recommend that you do not use ILS servers. They want you to use H.323 Gatekeepers instead. Vic makes a point of this in the White paper.
