We want a way to pass a local IIS based website a specific user authentication. This is because the internal site uses the domain user as it's authentication, however we have client's from another company coming in and onto the site using Squid as the proxy, hence not able to authenticate, what we were looking for was a way to get ISA to authenticate on behalf and pass the site back to the user, ISA would give a 'unathenticated' view of the site, ie not personlisation etc, that would be great.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Ashleigh

Hi Ashleigh,

How about using delegation of basic authentication and SSL to SSL bridging? Is this a secure Web site (I assume it is, since it requires authentication).

HTH,
Tom

unfortunatly not an ssl site. It's basicall the internal portal, however our parent company acceses it via the link between the countries, but all the requests go through a squid proxy at there end.

What we want to do is give them a generic view of the portal using an anonymous user, however squid kills all the authentication that could take place. So what I was trying to do was to point them at the 'outside' of an ISA server and then get ISA server to authenticate on there behalf with the generic user. That way the end user doesnt get authentication requests.

Hope that makes some sort of sense?

Ashleigh

Hi Ashleigh,

It sort of makes sense, but I can't really visualize what you want to do well enough to give some good advice.
