QoS Packet Scheduler & Comcast - 25.Apr.2002 3:15:00 PM

I have seen a strange thing that seems to happen periodically when connected to the Comcast cable modem network. Every now and then my internet connection seems to go loopy. The gateway can no longer talk to the internet, but still retains all the correct IPConfig settings for IP, gateway, etc. If I uncheck QoS Packet Scheduler in my external interface's properties, the connection immediately comes back alive and if I re-check QoS Packet Scheduler all is well. Also, coincidentally, there are a very large amount of log messages that indicate that my cable modem is trying to send my ISA Server a lot of UDP packets... Does anyone know what causes this and how I can fix it??? Comcast is little or no help, from their perspective, their solution is to hook my pc directly to th internet. Well that's not really a solution!

Hi zifnab,

Can you tell us more about those UDP packets? There's a bit of a difference between UDP 53 and UDP 67/68 [Big Grin]

Thanks!

Tom
