Hi all. I am in the process of setting up VPN quarantine and have successfully (I think) configured the ISA Server 2004 Standard that I am running on Win2K3SP1. I'm working with Windows XP Pro clients (for the most part) and have encountered an issue with the RQC.EXE client. It won't run. I try to copy it manually to a client computer and run it manually (rqc /?) and it gives nothing back (it should display its usage message). Funny thing is, from the client computer, I can run the client directly from \\isaserver\c$\windows\servicepackfiles\i386 and it works fine.......it's just when I copy it onto the client computer that it does not work. Has anyone encountered this? Am I missing something here? Maybe I'm running the wrong version of the RQC client? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I'm having this exact same issue. Did you ever find a solution? Thanks, Joe

I discovered what the problem was (sort of). I found the following command online to enable logging. netsh ras set tracing * enabled I gave it a shot and ran the rqc.exe command again. Still, the app gave no feedback, but lo and behold, in the log file (C:\Windows\tracing\rqc.log), these messages showed up: [1692] 15:10:40: Info: Usage: rqc.exe /conn ServiceProfileName [/domain DomainName] [/user UserName] [/port PortNumber] [/sig Signature] [/log LogFileName] [/?] [1692] 15:10:40: Info: /conn Required. Specifies the name of the service profile for which you want to run RQC. [1692] 15:10:40: Info: /domain Specifies the domain name. [1692] 15:10:40: Info: /user Specifies the user name. [1692] 15:10:40: Info: /port Specifies the port number used by RQC to connect to quarantine server. [1692] 15:10:40: Info: /sig Specifies the signature that sent to quarantine server to validate the client. [1692] 15:10:40: Info: /log Specifies the log message sent to the quarantine server. It's strange that the very same executable gives feedback in the dos window on Server 2003, but not XP. Anyway, I was getting these error messages because I was following the directions from a book that instructed to pass the arguments to a *batch file*, not the actual executable. The executable requires the /conn, etc. arguments.
