I have used ISA Server 2000 in the past and was not too happy with it because it was complex and lacked alot of features other firewalls had.

We currently run Watchguard Fireboxes and saw that ISA Server 2004 was coming out. I am interested because it looks like they did a good job with the rewrite of it.

Can anyone tell me if ISA Server can stand up to a Watchguard firewall? Also, does ISA 2004 have advanced features such as QOS and application layer filtering, etc?

Thanks in advance.

Scott

Hi Scott,

ISA 2004 firewalls set the standard on app laying filtering. Unfortunately, the yanked the bandwidth control features. You'll have to get third party add-ons for that.

HTH,
Tom
