Hi All,

I am doing a test on rpc over https..

My Scenario:
I have one Exchange Server which is DC\GC\and Exchange 2003
IP : 40.40.40.1
Default G/W: 40.40.40.2 (edge server who is sitting in the dmz network)

The edge Server has two nic's one for internal and another for external : 192.168.0.x
I have one client machine : 192.168.0.1

Installed ISA 2006 on Edge Server.

I created access rule to allow https : and it is working fine for rpc over https.

As per the article, it is suggesting me that i need to create a rule " web access client rule" for rpc over https"

Question : Just allowing https it is working fine for me, then why i require to go for it. if both https acess rule and web access rule is working how i can predict that web access rule is working fine.

If i stop https access rule nothing is working fine.
And if remove web access client from ISA there is no difference at all still i can able to access rpc over https.

Moreover under Access https : if i keep From U& To All network include local host then only it is working
Please help me to know what i am missing out.

What article said to add a Web client access rule?
