I just brought up ISA 2004 to replace a current ISA 2000 server on the new box I am able to browse the web but on certain links all I get is a blank page with the word done at the bottom. When I switch to ISA 2000 proxy the link works fine. An example of this is on HPs website in the driver section and on yahoo while clicking on the inbox.
Any help would be great. [ October 27, 2004, 06:46 PM: Message edited by: Kdavid ]

The new server is on all new hardware. I currently have cache disabled. Any other ideas on things to check?

We are connected to a PIX which is then connected to a T1. I don't know to much about MTU size but will look into it. Do you have any idea what it should be set at?

Hi.
We got a similar problem using ISA server 2004. Some pages just doesn't load. We are also connecting to a PIX firewall. Most pages that doesn't load on our side as basically .asp or .aspx pages. Our installation was also on new hardware and i have also tried switching off the caching - no luck.
Any additional ideas?
Thanks Eldridge

I am also having the same problem. It sounds like that I have the same or similar setup. Manually setting the mtus seems to not have an effect on the problem.

I am having a similar issue, pages aren't loading. I am not using a Pix, just ISA 2004.

I have found that if I disable all content filtering rules that the problem goes away. In my case I have a Chaincast filtering rule that should not effect the pages that are getting blocked.

Called Microsoft, it is a known problem and will be fixed in SP1 for ISA 2004.
Disabling content filtering rules is the only workaround.

Thanks for looking into that we actually found that other filtering software can cause the same issue. We are using websense and have the same issue.

Installed ISa 2004 SP1 and it made no difference on my end. If Microsoft was going to fix it they failed. Looks like I am going to have to bite the bullet and start a ticket with them.
If anyoen comes up with a good solution please post it.

Hello!
I too am here to report that SP1 doesn't solve this issue. I am also behind a Cisco 506 PIX and which is on a T1.
If anyone has any ideas, I would be happy to try it!

Happening with me also, only seems to happen with pages with searches and only after submitting a search. I have worked around it be making a url set that includes the pages with the problems and having it in the exceptions for the destination hope this helps. I really wish I would have found this problem earlier when I was evaluating the product would have never purchased it. Also having a problem where funny mime types like application/x-msdos-program will allow an executable through even with application content filtering on and blocking the .exe extention.

Hi guys,
1. Remember, the Web server is responsible for reporting the MIME type -- there is no magical method that the firewall can use to come up with a MIME type on its own
2. If you're blocking file extensions, some site URIs include those extensions after the host name. That is the case with Yahoo mail.
HTH, Tom

OK, sigh, it looks like this will not be solved in the near future. I know of a dozen school districts here in East Texas in the same boat as the previous posts. TheyÆre all sitting behind Pix and Websense. What changed between ISA 3 & 4 that causes error 64 when behind Pix or Websense? Or maybe I should ask what would be the best path, for me, to take to find a solution.
Thanks, William

Hey guys,
What is the actual problem you're experiencing? I've never seen it and I don't know how to replicate it. Give me a clue.
Thanks! Tom

I am not sure how to reproduce it but we resolved it by putting websense and ISA on the same server.
